Laugh So Hard Your Guts Hurt

October 2006

Boring day? These hilarious memories will put a smile on your face and take you back to your days as an undergrad. Relive your wild days and share your memories with us at here.

What is the memory that makes you laugh hardest today?

“1942 Hazing assignment: Put to sleep, dressed, in 3rd floor bathroom with alarm clock. While sleeping, the clock was reset hours ahead. Hike in rain to Fairhill, MD and get a sample of local crop (beans). Hitchhike in pouring rain. Back by 18-wheeler to personal residence, 70th and Woodland Ave. Sleep. Dress. Dry. Return to 3909 Spruce for report and debriefing by noon. Was it a laughing experience? Hardly.” - John C. Kulp, ’43

“My diving into the Schuylkill River on Skimmer Day.” - Earl C. Conway, ’54

Describe the best party

"At the '06 formal, the open bar had just ended and the horrendously fat bartender, who was ignoring all the brothers the entire night while trying to flirt with our dates, left to do something. So I hopped behind the bar, made a couple of drinks for us, and grabbed a bottle of Grey Goose as a parting gift. Naturally, about 3 minutes later he sees a bottle sticking out of my jacket, confiscates it, and tosses the entire frat out. When trying to stealthily steal a bottle of alcohol from a bar, don't pick the longest bottle. I should have went for the Jaeger. And I should have worn a bigger jacket. Ant Cang was, of course, passed out somewhere in the middle of Philadelphia during all of this."-Jim Saksa, '08

“Playing other Sig Ep houses in basketball.” - Bob Johnson, ’55
